Do you want to run your own server? This is for the advanced user who wants to run their own server without having to deal with creating the infrastructure around it. OttawaWEB works with a large hosting company to provide this high end solution.

This server comes with its own control panel so that you can add databases, features, email accounts on your own. It also comes with loads of disk space and bandwidth.

Cost:
$150.00 Canadian per month with a $50.00 setup fee.

Virtual Server Features:

  • Domain name: each virtual server can have an URL like http://domain.dom or http://www.domain.dom. This solution can support multiple domains.

  • Login: full FTP access to all of your files. You also have access via Virtuoso and Plesk.

  • Disk storage: 5 GB is provided for your files. This does not include your log files or temporary space needed to install or upgrade your website. Extra space is available for a small one-time fee.

  • Hits and Transfers: You can have unlimited hits on your site. We monitor the amount of bandwidth your site requires and it is limited to 200 Gb/month. Extra bandwidth is available at an extra cost.

  • Security: powerful 1024-bit RSA encryption is available as an option. In order to use this feature, you will need to acquire a signed digital certificate (X-RAMP - $110/year). We will help you obtain your certificate.

  • Powerful tools: are bundled standard with your server including Perl, PHP and other programs compatible with Linux.

  • Databases: MySQL database can be set up in your VPS

  • CGI: you have your own CGI directory where you can load your own CGI programs (programs that cause problems on the server may be removed)

  • Logs: access to the actual log files as well as self run graphical reports at no extra charge

  • Custom errors: you can create custom error messages for things like 404 page not found

  • Email: This virtual server comes with unlimited local mail accounts. Unlimited mail aliases can be created.

  • Technical Support: we are available via phone and email to answer your questions 7 days a week.
